He made his NXT debut in 2014, after the defeat of Troy McClain. In 2015, Gable formed a tag team with Kurt Angle’s son Jason Jordan named American Alpha. The duo started fighting with the Vaudevillains for the number one contender ship for the NXT Tag Team Championship match against Dash and Dawson. In 2016, American Alpha was established for the SmackDown brand and competed for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship against tag teams, such as Breezango and the Usos. Gable has recently competed in the King of the Ring tournament, where he defeated  Shelton Benjamin,  Andrade, and Shane McMahon to secure his way to the final. In the finals of the King of the Ring Gable battled with Baron Corbin. However, he got to face defeat in the end.
