    Maryse Mizaninis a Canadian-American professional wrestler, actress, model, and wrestling manager who set the record of defending the WWE Divas Championship title for the longest time in history.  She currently features in WWE RAW as the manager of The Miz, under her ring name Maryse.

    Early Life

    Maryse Ouellet was born on January 21, 1983, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, to her parents Guy Ouellet and Marjolaine Martin. She is a professional wrestler and a former model who also acts as a wrestling manager. Ouellet was born, raised, and educated in Canada, where, in her high school class, she was the only girl. Despite the difference, Maryse Ouellet never backed down in anything that she found interesting. She used to participate in high school fashion shows, has earned a black belt in Karate, and is a business executive, having earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Montmorency College in Quebec.

    Maryse Ouellet grew up in a Roman-Catholic family and shares a very close relationship with her parents. She has a tattoo of her deceased father’s name on her wrist, which signifies the important role her father played in her life. She grew up in the down of Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada with her sister Michelle. She was interested in the glamour world ever since she was a teen and worked her way into becoming a model and also competed in a few beauty pageants. She even had a shot at making a line of makeup products of her own.

    After winning the title of Miss Hawaiin Tropic Canda in 2003, and becoming the runner-up at the International Finals of Miss Hawaiian Tropic, Maryse Ouellet made her name in the glamour world, after working as a glamour model for a few more years, she joined professional wrestling after participating and being selected in the WWE Diva Search in 2006. Initially, Ouellet was eliminated from the top 8 of the Diva Search, however, she got a chance to visit the Ohio Valley Wrestling Training Facility where afterward, she was granted a developmental contract to train in the facility, starting August 2007.

    Before beginning her training, Maryse Ouellet had made her ring debut in a live event held at the OVW training facility in December 2006 she had debuted in the ring at a live event in OVW in December 2006. In the meantime, she managed Sylvain Grenier at OVW. She made her first appearance on television when she came on stage and presented a music video of ‘Throw it on me‘ by Timbaland, on WWE RAW in May 2007. Since then, she has been making regular appearances in WWE SmackDown, since early 2008, gaining popularity as a villainous character.

    In November 2008, Maryse Ouellet won the biggest match of her career so far by winning a 5v5 tag-team match in the Survivor Series. Later that year she managed to clinch her first title in the WWE world by becoming the WWE Divas Champion, defeating Michelle McCool. She was also the first woman to win the title by actual competition. Holding the title for seven months, she set the record for defending the WWE Divas Championship belt for the longest period in WWE history. Her streak came to an end when she lost to Mickie James at The Night of the Champions, in July. Her record would be later broken by AJ Lee in January 2014 held the title for almost 10 months.

    WWE Manager

    In 2010, Maryse Ouellet started working as the personal assistant to Ted DiBiase, she worked with him for the better part of the year but on March 8, 2011, Maryse was selected to be the co-host of NXT alongside Matt Striker. Facing a dilemma, she decided to choose to work for NXT and ended her terms with DiBiase, seeing a better prospect there. In August of the same year, she underwent surgery for an abdominal hernia and later ended her professional contract with WWE, being no longer able to continue, in late 2011.

    WWE Return

    Maryse Ouellet returned to the WWE after 5 years, in April 2016 as The Miz’s manager, whom she had married a couple of years ago in 2014, after her initial departure from the WWE. Upon returning back as her ring-side partner, she helped him win the WWE Intercontinental Championship, by distracting his opponent Zack Ryder. She did this on multiple occasions and thanks to her efforts, The Miz was successful in defending his title for a long time. Popularly, as a couple, Maryse Ouellet and Michael Gregory Mizanin became known as “The IT”, in the WWE universe. In September 2017, she announced that she would stop making TV appearances because she was pregnant and need to rest.

    However, she did make appearances as an audience to support her husband on a number of matches, and on January 22, 2018, she was honored by the WWE as one of the legends who contributed to the development and success of the RAW. Maryse Ouellet returned to WWE SmackDown to manage The Miz, once again in 2018. She even competed alongside him in a couples tag-team match which they won.

    Personal Life

    Maryse Ouellet is married to Michael Gregory Mizanin, popularly known as The Miz. They first met in 2006 when she had participated in the WWE Diva Search. The Miz, at the time, was the host of the competition. After seven years of dating, the couple got engaged in 2013 and tied knots on February 20, 2014, at a wedding ceremony held in the Bahamas.  The couple has two beautiful daughters, Monroe and Madison. The couple has been living happily ever since they first met and they currently reside in their stunning mansion in Thousand Oaks, California, with their children. Ouellet is a dog lover and is very compassionate to animals. She has adopted many dogs of which Pumpkin, Luna, and Mug are her favorites.

    Maryse Ouellet earned more than $200,000 annually during her years at the WWE. Over the years, she earned a lot of fame and money from the franchise. She also earns from her modeling and acting jobs, accumulating a net worth of about $3 million in her career. The California mansion the couple currently owns was bought by them for $6.4 million in August 2019. Previously they owned real estate worth approx $3 million. Her husband has a net worth of around $9 million and combined, the “Miz and Mrs.” are estimated to have a net worth of $12 million in 2021.
