    Azzi Fudd Early Life

Azzi was born on November 11, 2002, under the sign of the star Scorpio. She is 19 years old, an American citizen, and of Afro-American descent.

She stands 5 feet 11 inches (1.80 m) tall and weighs 165 lb (75 kg). Fudd was raised by her adoptive father, Tim Fudd, and her mother, Katie.

Tim also played basketball at American University while her mother Katie played in Georgetown and N.C. State. In 2001, she was drafted into the WNBA Draft.

Her mother, Katie, named her Azzi Fudd, inspired by former basketball player Jennifer Azzi. She grew up in Fairfax, Virginia, United States, with her two younger brothers.

    Azzi Fudd Career

In 2019, she was named Gatorade National Girls Basketball of the Year after accumulating 26.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assistants per game, becoming the second-ever student to win the award.

In addition, she led her team to a 35-1 record and won the District of Columbia State Athletic Association (DCSAA) title.

Before her second year, Fudd was one of the first girls to attend the SC30 Select Camp, an elite offseason training camp run by NBA MVP twice Stephen Curry, and won a three-point shooting competition in the center.

The 18-year-old 3×3, held to represent the country at the FIBA U18 3×3 World Cup that year, ripped the ACL and MCL to the right knee. Because of the nature of Fudd’s injuries, her knee reconstruction required two different operations — the first for MCL and the second just after a few weeks for the ACL.

Both surgeries were performed by K. Donald Shelbourne, an Indianapolis orthopedic surgeon who repaired her mother’s torn ACL many years earlier. While she was being prepared, Fd went to Curry’s camp again.

Shelbourne allowed her to compete again in the three-point camp tournament, but only if she could walk between the spots.

However, Fd also won the competition and returned to the St. Louis band. In January 2020, with an average of 19.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in St. John’s, while recovering from her injury before her season was terminated by COVID-19.

St. John’s did not play the official 2020–21 for the same reason; the team played illegal shows like D.C. Cadets, along with Fudd, then vice-president of the student union, urging the school principal to implement the program.

Azzi averaged 25.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.2 steals during the abbreviated senior season. Fd was a five-star athlete and was ranked first in the 2021 class by ESPN.

She received her first 6th-grade scholarship from Maryland. On November 11, 2020, Fudd announced her commitment to Conn. She has selected the Huskies over UCLA, Louisville, and Maryland.

She has been the number 12 recruiting signing with Conn since 1998. She has represented the United States worldwide, winning gold medals at the 2017 FIBA Under-16 Women’s Americas Championship in Argentina, the 2018 FIBA Under-17 Women’s Basketball World Cup in Belarus, and the 2021 FIBA Under-19 Women’s Basketball World Cup in Hungary.
